# Contract Status, Billing Information, and Payment Method Management

> Source: https://docs.lorel.ai/en/specifications/billing-contract-and-payment-info/

Use the on-screen "Open billing management" button (shown with the hint "Cancel renewal, billing info & card changes") to open the dedicated screen, where you can check and make changes.

> For organizations billed through AWS Marketplace
>
> On the "Billing" page of an organization that subscribes through AWS Marketplace, "Open billing management" is not shown. Billing information and payment methods are not managed in Lorel.ai. For details, see [Subscribing Through AWS Marketplace](/en/specifications/billing-aws-marketplace/).

## 1. Checking Your Contract Status

The items you can check are as follows (all dates are shown in UTC).

| Field | Displayed content / options | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Status | Trialing / Active / Past due / Canceled / Unpaid / Processing / Expired / Paused | Shows your organization's current contract status (once the contract ends, the status itself stays "Canceled" and "Contract end date" is shown in place of "Current term ends"; the next renewal date and the cancellation deadline are not shown). Note: this "Unpaid" is a state the contract itself reaches after repeated failed payment retries — a different meaning from an individual invoice simply awaiting payment (see [Check Your Invoices](/en/specifications/billing-invoices/), where that per-invoice state is named "Open"). See [Restrictions When Payment Is Delayed](/en/specifications/billing-payment-delay/) for what "Past due" restricts. |
| Plan | Starter / Standard / Enterprise | Shows the plan you are currently subscribed to. |
| Contract type | Monthly / Annual (billed monthly, 12-month commitment) | Shows your contract's renewal cycle. |
| Scheduled change<br>(*Only if a plan change is pending) | Plan name (contract type) and effective date | Shown only if you have a plan change request that hasn't taken effect yet. |
| Payment method | Credit card / Bank transfer | For credit card payments, the "Payment card" field shows the brand, last 4 digits, and expiration date. |
| Current term ends | Date | The date your current contract cycle ends. |
| Next renewal | Date | The date your next contract term begins/renews. |
| Cancellation deadline | Date | The deadline to complete the procedure to stop (cancel) your next renewal. (*Hidden once you have canceled renewal.) |
| Scheduled end date<br>(*Only if you have canceled renewal) | Date | Shown only while a cancellation (renewal cancellation) is in progress. Lets you check your scheduled end date in advance. |

## 2. Managing Your Billing Information

You can check and update your invoice recipient name (legal entity), delivery email address, and address (optional).
What you set here is reflected on the invoices that are issued.

The items you can check and update are as follows.

- Invoice recipient name (legal entity) (set the official legal entity name to be printed on the invoice)
- Invoice delivery email address
- Address (optional; only needed if you want the address printed on the invoice) — if entered, every field except the building name (postal code, prefecture, city, and street address) is required

Notes and specifications when making changes are as follows.

| Item | Content |
| --- | --- |
| Address updates are all-or-nothing (no automatic per-field correction) | When changing your address, you must enter and update every field — postal code, prefecture, city, and street address — yourself (for example, changing the "prefecture" does not automatically correct the city or street address, so be sure to enter every field correctly). |
| Prior verification via a confirmation code | If you change the delivery email address to one other than your own user account's email address, prior verification via a confirmation code sent to the new email address is required before the change is finalized. |
| Change-completed notice | If the email address is changed, a completion notice is sent to both the old and new email addresses to prevent unauthorized changes. Even if delivery of the notice to the old email address fails, the email address change itself is not reverted. |

## 3. Billing/Payment Cycle and Contract Change Rules

A list of the requirements to start using Lorel.ai, the billing cutoff date, the payment due date, and the rules that apply when changing plans or canceling.

The prerequisites to start using the service are as follows.

- To use Lorel.ai, you must either set up your invoice delivery information or register a credit card.
- If you choose invoice payment (bank transfer), a credit check is performed, so you cannot start using the service immediately (use begins once the review is complete).

| Item | Specification / applicable rule | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Payment method | Credit card / Bank transfer (invoice payment) | Bank transfer (invoice payment) is available only to organizations that pass the required credit check. |
| Billing cutoff date / invoice issue date | Cutoff at month-end, issued at 06:00 UTC on the 2nd of the following month (issuance may be delayed in abnormal cases) | Individual changes to the billing/payment cycle are not supported. |
| Payment due date | Bank transfer (invoice payment): the last day of the month following the month in which the billing period closes (the preceding business day if that day is a bank holiday). Example: for March usage, the end of April (or the preceding business day if that is a bank holiday).<br>Credit card: there is no "due date" concept — your registered card is charged automatically when the invoice is issued. | Individually extending or changing the payment due date is not possible, as a general rule. |
| New sign-up mid-month | The base fee is not prorated; the full one-month amount is charged for the start month. The data storage free tier is also not prorated and is granted in full for this period. | The initial credit granted when your contract starts is applied automatically. |
| Cancellation request (renewal cancellation) | A cancellation requested by the deadline ends the contract on your current term's end date (full amount is charged) | There is no prorated refund or reduction. (*The request deadline varies by contract type. See the [Cancel Renewal](/en/specifications/billing-cancellation/) page for details.) |
| Plan upgrade | Only an upgrade from a Starter monthly plan takes effect immediately, at the moment you apply from "Subscription status" in billing management (no other upgrade path exists in the current system). | Upgrading to Enterprise cannot be done on this screen; it goes through the dedicated contact form instead. |
| Plan downgrade | The new plan takes effect on the 1st of the following month for a change from a Standard monthly contract, or on the 1st of the month after your Standard annual commitment ends (which can be anywhere from about 1 month to as much as 12 months out from when you apply) for an annual-origin change. | Changing from an Enterprise plan cannot be done on this screen either (dedicated contact form instead). See [Change Your Contract Plan](/en/specifications/billing-plan-changes/) for the full effective-date rules. |
